Henley Is One

Henley is One!

I say this about all my baby’s how the first year flies past and they are back in the studio for their cake smash.  I love seeing how their personality has developed over the past year but then again, the same personality I saw in the newborn session is there.  Seeing how “my babies” grow and change over the year is a highlight of my job.  Henley is looking more like her momma but she still looks the same as she did only days old.

When mom Carly contacted me about her one year session, she wasn’t sure on the theme.  She planned a teddy bear picnic for her party but wasn’t sure if she wanted that for portraits.  Ultimately, mom had picked out an outfit and a crown and the session showed itself to be pinks and gold.  This keeps with Henley’s newborn portraits as she had pinks  for those.  In fact, the backdrop I used in her newborn session.  I used it for the bowl images with the antlers to incorporate Dad’s love of hunting into his daughters newborn images.

I wasn’t sure exactly how to set up for Henley’s session until the night before. Everything just came together.  I was in love with her cake from Treats and Geeks.  My husband was enamored by it as well.  He has a big soft spot when it comes to cake and that might have been part of it.

I made a video of Henley smashing her cake and taking her splash.  Head on over to my Facebook page to see it.  Make sure to like my page!  If you have a baby turning one, I would love to plan their smash and bath with you!  Please reach out and we can get started!  Did you know that all my newborn clients receive a gift card voucher towards their one year smash and bath?
